Venus (known as Melon until July 2018) was a general multi-purpose Discord Bot created and operated by AveryEclipse.

The bot launched with version 1.0 on 28 April 2018 after around a week of development and testing with versions 0.1 to 0.6, the latter having been split in updates ‘a’ and ‘b’.

At least 15 releases have been made of the Venus project until its discontinuation on 25 July 2019 with version 1.6.1, justified by AveryEclipse as “lack of interest in coding”. A major version v2.0 was eventually planned in early 2019 that would include a database implementation and more complex commands such as moderation commands which was however scrapped.

After the 2019 discontinuation, an tentative to revive the Venus bot project was made in early 2021 with a different version 2.0 rewrite containing a database powered by better-sqlite3, however it was scrapped and abandoned after a short time due to lack of long-term interest in maintenance. This codebase would later be picked up in 2026 to be used for Orchid, a bridge between Discord, Stoat and Fluxer developed as part of the Axeon Network.
