AveryWebsite version history
This is a list of all released versions of AveryWebsite and their changelogs, as of June 2026, from latest to earliest.
The changelogs of all versions before and including v3.3.1 are inherited from AveryWebsite’s changelog page, which was deprecated as of November 2025. They’ve been all archived here for historical purposes.
Version 26.x
26.6.1
Released also on 29 June 2026, a few hours after v26.6, it was a hotfix update fixing multiple major bugs discovered in the Fallback Layout (formerly the Retro Frontend).
26.6
Released on 29 June 2026, it is the biggest update to AveryWebsite so far.
Including a fresh design overhaul along the way, there have been done a large number of bug fixes, improvements, code cleanups and other adjustments, in order to simplify the code and make it easier to navigate and work with.
The Retro Frontend has been mostly phased out in favor of a simple fallback layout due to decreased interest in maintainance and improving by adding new stuff to it.
The RSS feed has been rewritten and completely simplified internally, using remark/rehype (in consistency with Astro) instead of markdown-it. The Table of Contents is now automatically generated by rehype-toc instead of custom Astro logic and has been ported to the RSS as well.
Pagination has been implemented in the blog, each page now having at maximum 10 blog posts.
26.5.1
Released on 26 May 2026, this version fixed a major bug with displaying blog post tags on mobile. Additionally, the env.d.ts file was deleted from the src folder, deemed unnecessary.
26.5
Released on 14 May 2026, it further expanded on the rollout of astro-icon icons sitewide to Unicode emojis in sections and page headers. Support for the icon prop was added for the collapsible box component (used for the homepage Buttons and Webrings sections) and in the layout. The Box component also no longer requires a title. Other bug fixes and enhancements have been done as well.
This is the first version to be powered by Astro v6.x.x versions. The minimum required Node.js version is now Node 22 and has been reflected as such in the deployment CI/CD, as Astro v6 dropped support for older Node versions.
26.4.1
Released on 9 April 2026, just 14 hours after the previous release, it undoes a change made in v26.4 (removal of TheHaswellLappy from the Devices page, which appeared to have been working again hours after v26.4’s release), finally fixes the display of webrings in the Retro Frontend, and drops support for the Modern Frontend in Opera Presto.
This is the final version to be powered by Astro v5.x.x versions.
26.4
Released on 9 April 2026, this version mainly marked a switch from using FontAwesome to using the astro-icon package instead for icons, along with other minor updates and fixes.
26.3
Released on 22 March 2026, coinciding with the rebrand from KayAurora to AveryEclipse, it was an major update to KayWebsite, now referred to as AveryWebsite starting with this update.
Most notably, alongside the rebrand, this release introduces a Table of Contents to be displayed in the blog and a complete overhaul of the Devices page. Webrings now use button navigation styles similar to ClyronWebsite v2 versions (except in the Retro Frontend).
The Retro Frontend has been vastly improved as well. Support for the rfgif prop has been added, a purely decorative optional prop enabling use of old-school GIFs per page, exclusive to the Retro Frontend.
The “non-working link warning” previously added in v26.2 had also been changed to cover any external link in general and is also now its optional boolean rfwarning prop that can be enabled per page.
In addition, other general fixes, cleanups and enhancements having been made site-wide.
26.2.1
Released on 19 February 2026, just about 15 minutes after v26.2, it was a minor hotfix update fixing the display of the buttons and webrings boxes being broken in the main (modern) frontend, discovered to be due to missing CSS code.
This is the final website version release to refer to itself as KayWebsite.
26.2
Released on 19 February 2026, it primarily focused around updating information in the Devices page and Homepage, fixing broken links, as well as fixing an issue with the display of the buttons and webrings boxes in the Retro Frontend. Also in the Retro Frontend, a warning was added that button or webring links may not work if using an ancient browser.
This was initially supposed to be a bigger update similarily to v26.1, planned to launch at the latest by late February, however due to the amplitude of changes, added by plans of a rebrand from KayAurora to AveryEclipse, Avery decided to release v26.2 as a smaller update primarily fixing significant issues from the previous and earlier versions and bringing information up-to-date. Other bigger changes initially planned for v26.2 were delayed until v26.3.
26.1
Released on 15 January 2026, it brought significant changes, fixes and restructuring to the website, mostly in the backend but also changes that can be immediately noticeable by the end user in both the Modern and Retro Frontends.
To further clean up the homepage, webrings are now located in their own box, similarily with the 88x31 buttons. Though in the Retro Frontend the buttons and webrings view now fallback to text and image only, just like it was prior to v25.11 (albeit webrings section is no longer centered). Also in the Retro Frontend, full support has been added for tags in blog posts.
In addition, the KayAurora wordmark used in the Modern Frontend is now the correct one in respect with the website background. The wordmark previously used remains as an “alternative” logo which is revealed upon hovering on the logo in the navbar.
Version 25.x
25.12.2
Released on 28 December 2025, it is the same as 25.12.1, however it is the result of another update in the automated CI/CD version determination in preparation for the upcoming year 2026. In particular, changes to files unrelated to the website’s source code itself that are located in the root of the website’s GitHub Repository will no longer cause a version bump, unless they come “in package” with changes to the website itself.
As the final KayWebsite version release of the year 2025, it is also the final v25.x release.
25.12.1
Released on 26 December 2025, it fixed an issue with the background in the 404 Not Found page and bumped the Astro version and other dependencies.
25.12
Released on 6 December 2025, it updated the timezone shown in the homepage and fixed an issue with the background.
25.11.2
Released on 29 November 2025, it mainly updated the Projects and Devices pages. Other changes include fixing issues and inconsistencies in the CSS styling, while the automated CI/CD version determination was updated to exclude unnecessary version bumps in the event of new blog posts or edits of them, unless they come “in package” with changes to the website itself.
25.11.1
Released on 19 November 2025, the main change is the fact the 88x31 buttons section in the homepage is now a collapsible box, closed by default. This is to make the homepage look cleaner.
25.11
Released on 6 November 2025, it brings various bug fixes and improvements. In particular, the general font size was increased in the Retro Frontend for better readability, while the font sizes of several elements of the main website were adjusted for consistency with respect to the general font size that was increased in the previous version.
Broken links and issues with the CI/CD version determination were also fixed, while soft breaks are now properly supported in Markdown without the need to append an \ character at the end.
25.10
The first version to use the new date versioning system in the vYY.M.R format (where YY means the year of release, M means the month of release, and R the revision number for the month), it was released on 30 October 2025. Under this new version scheme, the version is automatically determined through CI/CD on GitHub every time KayWebsite is built in production.
This KayWebsite release changed the sitewide font from Inter to Atkinson Hyperlegible and increased font size. The Devices page was also overhauled, while embeds were fixed and now display properly. On the backend side, page headings and descriptions are now declared as Astro props.
The plaintext mode warning (i.e. when no CSS is loaded, for example on browsers lacking proper CSS support like Netscape 4) was updated to properly specify that it is not explicitly supported.
Version 3.x
3.3.1
This version was released on 7 October 2025. It is the final KayWebsite version to use the Semantic Versioning (SemVer) system, as the next version would jump from major version 3 to major version 25 (for the then-current year 2025) as part of the switch to a new date versioning system in the year-month-revision format (vYY.M.R). As such, this is considered the final v3 release of KayWebsite.
